M.S. Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (MSRARI), Jaipur was established on 1stApril, 1972 as Regional Research Institute (RRI) for Ayurveda under Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS) (now Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences), Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy (now Ministry of AYUSH), Government of India, with the objective to promote Ayurveda on scientific ground by means of clinical as well as drug development studies. In the year 1999, under the process of re-organization of CCRAS, this institute was upgraded as Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI). In the year 2010, the Institute was again renamed as Ayurveda Central Research Institute (ACRI). Thereafter under the process of re-organization of Council’s peripheral units, the institute was renamed as “Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Endocrine Disorders (RARIED)”in April 2016. The institute has been renamed once again as ‘Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI)’ since January, 2021. Various Clinical Research studies have been conducted by this Institute since its inception.

Dr. B.R. Meena is a distinguished Ayurveda researcher and administrator with over 23 years of experience in the field. He earned his BAMS degree in 1995 and completed his MD (Ayurveda) in 1998 from the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur. He has joined the CCRAS research cadre in January 2002 and he has served in various CCRAS institutes across different states and has been leading as the Head of Institute for the past five years at RARI Patna and MSRARI Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Throughout his career, Dr. Meena has made significant contributions to Ayurveda research, published various numerous research papers and successfully managed several projects as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. His leadership has been instrumental in achieving prestigious accreditations such as NABH, NABL, FSSAI, and ISO 9001:2015, as well as initiating a Ph.D. program within the institute affiliated with DSRRAU, Jodhpur.
His tenure has been marked by substantial advancements in infrastructure, elevating both the hospital and research facilities to modern standards. Recognized for his contributions, he has received Directorate Honors and Appreciation Certificates for his exceptional service. Actively engaged in the academic and research community, He has attended and organized over 100 seminars, conferences, and training programs in the entire service.
Dr. Meena also plays a key role in scientific and administrative committees, serving as the President of the CCRAS Scientists’ Welfare Association and being a member of various scientific, technical, and ethical committees. His commitment to the advancement of Ayurveda continues to shape the field, fostering innovation and excellence in research and healthcare.
